The Outlander Sport Delivers Solid Crossover Value

It's currently one of the best-selling models in the entire Mitsubishi lineup and for a lot of good reasons. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a compact crossover that provides amazing fuel efficiency, a dynamic driving experience, and legendary warranty protection. That's before we even mention all the standard features you get with this vehicle. To top it all off, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is priced significantly less than practically all of its rivals. Getting the picture? The Outlander Sport provides everything you could ever want in a compact crossover at a value price.

One of the questions we get often at Hub Mitsubishi of Katy is, "What's the difference between the Outlander and the Outlander Sport?" Think of the Outlander Sport as the "little brother" to the Mitsubishi Outlander model. It's shorter and weighs less than Outlander. The Outlander Sport also accommodates five passengers while the Outlander is equipped with space for up to seven. Given that the Outlander Sport is smaller than the Outlander, it also weighs less. That means you're going to get a little bit better gas mileage when you own or drive the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

For even more details on all the incredible benefits of the Outlander Sport, feel free to contact us online or stop by Hub Mitsubishi of Katy in person. One of our sales associates would be happy to go over all the features that come with this compact crossover. We also have some money saving special offers on all our new Mitsubishi models that you will definitely want to hear about. These purchase and lease specials are available to Katy, Sugar Land, and Missouri City shoppers for a limited time only, so come see us today at 17007 Katy Fwy Houston, TX 77094.

What's new on the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

Lots! Mitsubishi performed an extensive refresh on the Outlander Sport for the 2018 model year. On the outside, there is new front fascia along with revised bumpers on the rear of the compact crossover. The factory also packed more premium features inside the 2018 Outlander Sport. Every trim level in the lineup now comes standard with a touchscreen display along with the availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2018 Outlander Sport is available in three trims: ES 2.0, SE 2.4, and SEL 2.4. If you feel like there's something missing from the lineup, you're correct. Mitsubishi made the decision to drop the GT trim from the 2018 Outlander Sport lineup.

Just like all Mitsubishi models, the 2018 Outlander Sport is available with an all-wheel control system. This system "continually monitors the road and intelligently transfers power and braking to the wheels with the most traction to improve handing and performance," according to Mitsubishi. Translation: no matter how treacherous the roads may get, you can drive with confidence in the 2018 Outlander Sport when equipped with all-wheel control.

Mitsubishi also equips the 2018 Outlander Sport with some of the most advanced safety technology of any vehicle in its class. Available driver assistance features include Forward Collision Mitigation, Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers, Auto High Beam Headlights, and Lane Departure Warning system.

Pound for pound, the 2018 Outlander Sport is an incredible value when you buy or lease. The best way to determine if it's the right fit for you? Come take a test drive at Hub Mitsubishi of Katy.

A Look into the Past of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

The origin of the Outlander Sport traces back to the arrival of its larger sibling (the Outlander) in 2003. The Outlander was released as a replacement model to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The original Outlander was approximately five inches longer than the Montero Sport and came equipped with a 2.4L engine.

The Outlander Sport made its debut in 2011 as a shorter and lighter version of the Outlander model. The Outlander Sport also differentiated itself from its sibling by offering seating capacity for up to five people compared Outlander's seven passenger capacity.

By 2017, the Outlander Sport had become the top-selling model in the automaker's lineup in part due to American consumers' hunger for compact crossovers. Seeking to capitalize on this sales momentum, Mitsubishi made styling enhancements to the 2018 Outlander Sport, while also increasing the vehicle's standard interior features.
